Catholics believe the Eucharist is both a sacrifice and a meal. We believe in the real presence of Jesus, who died for our sins. As we receive Christ’s Body and Blood, we also are nourished spiritually and brought closer to God.
Tied with this Sacrament we also have the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This Sacrament has three elements: Conversion, Confession and Celebration. In it we find God’s unconditional forgiveness, and as a result we are called to forgive others.
Our children are prepared throughout the years to receive these Sacraments through Catechism classes held at the church itself. We give our utmost so that our children recognise God’s infinite love and forgiveness, not just as a preparation for the Sacraments itself, but for life.
Parents whose children were not baptised in our parish would need to provide a Baptism certificate from the respective parish prior to the First Holy Communion.
